Cemetery Clean-up Service Activity | April 25, 2026

Dear Highland Stake Friends,

THANK YOU!

We are grateful to all who participated in the Giving Machine experience this past November!  Recently, check presentations were made to the non-profit organizations that were featured with the Giving Machines. The attached document shows the total donations made here in Pocatello. Combined with our friends in Rexburg and Idaho Falls, over 2.8 million dollars were raised (see this news article for more details). Along with the tremendous impact for good these donations will have it was incredible to see the way hearts were touched, gratitude expressed and the spirit of giving that blessed the receivers and the givers. This event was a success because of you…the volunteers who shared time, talents and resources in a wonderful spirit of giving! Thank you so much for being part of such a wonderful event!

REMINDER

As part of Global Youth Service Month, all youth in our stake are invited to participate in a multi-stake cemetery clean up service activity this coming Saturday, April 25. Youth and leaders will meet at the stake center at 9:00 am for donuts and hot chocolate; carpools, arranged by the wards, will then leave for Mountain View Cemetery (1520 S 5th Ave, Pocatello). Please bring rakes and gloves. After the service project, all will return to the stake center by noon for pizza!

INVITATIONS

America 250! – 2026 marks a significant milestone in American history as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence! Across the United States, communities are coming together to commemorate this occasion, reflecting on the past, celebrating the present, and envisioning the future. Idaho has many events planned to celebrate, including a service challenge of completing 250,000 acts of service before July 4th! As you, your family, youth group, etc. participate in acts of service (for this challenge, an “act of service” is defined as any intentional action that provides a meaningful benefit to others. Whether it takes five minutes or five hours, if it makes a difference, it counts!) we are asked to record our efforts on the idahokindness.org website. We invite you to prayerfully consider ways you can serve, including checking out all of the wonderful opportunities on justserve.org.

Feeding the 5000 – We invite you to participate in the “Feeding the 5000” progressive dinner on Saturday, April 25th beginning at 5:30 pm. Guests move between 3 local churches within a neighborhood and enjoy appetizers, meals, and desserts prepared by different faith groups. The event is part of a muti-week effort to support our local food bank and is one of the oldest continuously running food drives in the country. This is a witness to the good that is done when different faith communities come together; see the attached document for more information.

Thank you for the positive influence you are in your homes, neighborhood and faith community as you reach out to others through service and share the love of Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,

Highland Stake Presidency & Stake Communication Council
