Dear Highland Stake Members,
We will be holding our Stake Self-Reliance Devotional on October 20th at 7pm at the Stake Center. This is a great opportunity to come and learn about the 5 wonderful courses available:
- Finding Strength in the Lord – Emotional Resilience
- Education for Better Work
- Find a Better Job
- Personal Finances
- Starting & Growing My Business
All adult stake members are invited to attend the devotional where the Self-Reliance program and each course will be introduced, courses selected, and groups organized.
We also are excited to invite all high school seniors to please join us for a separate, special Devotional just for you. We will introduce the course Finding Strength in the Lord – Emotional Resilience and organize into groups.
Self-Reliance courses are an important way the Lord provides for us. They are fun, interactive, and engaging. Groups meet once a week, at the time of their choosing, and run 10-12 weeks.
Ward leaders please announce this devotional in our sacrament and 2nd hour meetings to ensure all adults and high school seniors are invited.
These courses also provide a wonderful opportunity for our friends and neighbors of other faiths to come and learn with us. The small, group-learning environment puts everyone as equals, is faith-based and very non-threatening. If you know someone, member or not, that would potentially be interested, please invite them to come with you.
We love you all, and hope these courses allow opportunity for all who are willing to participate to grow closer to, and more like our Savior Jesus Christ. For you seniors, there are few things better you can do to be prepared to serve a mission.
We look forward to being with you,
President Francis
