Remembering Our Savior Jesus Christ – Worship & Celebration Invitations

Dear Highland Stake Friends,

As we look forward to commemorating our Savior’s life, atonement and resurrection during Holy Week and on Easter Sunday, we want to make you aware/remind you of some wonderful events and opportunities to strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ and to share inspired invitations with others to participate. Please share/amplify these invitations with neighbors, friends, those you minister to and in ward bulletins, etc.

As a reminder, please take time to review and ponder the inspiring invitations to “Remember Him” and “Becoming Lifelong Disciples of Jesus Christ” found in messages from our United States Central Area Presidency found on the Area Presidency webpage; Remember Him—not only in our holiday traditions, but in daily discipleship, personal devotion, service, gratitude, and love.

The Living Christ Event, sponsored by the Highland and Highland South Stakes, will take place the evenings of March 31 – April 3 (4:30 – 8:30 pm) at the Highland Stake Center. This event will feature videos, narration, music and artwork depicting events in Jesus Christ’s life from His birth to His resurrection. We hope that we, our neighbors and friends will come together to celebrate the Easter season and remember the Lord Jesus Christ! Please see the attached invitation card you can share digitally and/or print out and share.

Please also remember our Sacrament meeting only schedule for Palm Sunday, March 29th; please prayerfully consider friends and neighbors you can invite to participate in our Palm Sunday Sacrament services. Also, many of our fellow brothers and sisters in our community will be attending Good Friday services on April 3rd and Easter services that same weekend; we invite you to reach out to those you know of other faiths and learn more about their beliefs and attend with them where possible.

Finally, we will be blessed to participate in General Conference on Easter weekend, April 4th and 5th and receive some personalized instruction, invitations and promised blessings. As part of our Holy Week activities and in preparation for conference, we invite you to prayerfully study the scriptures related to Holy Week and Easter and to read/listen to Elder Gary E. Stevenson’s talk, “The Greatest Easter Story Ever Told” and the First Presidency’s Easter message (video format; print format) and act on the promptings of the Holy Ghost that come to your heart and mind.

We witness of our Saviors redeeming gift of love for all of God’s children and the joy and transformative power this can bring into our lives and express our love and gratitude for each of you.
