Be Someone’s Angel! Brookdale Resident Gifts and Bell Ringing Opportunities

Dear Highland Stake Friends,

We are so grateful for this wonderful time of year and the sweet reminders of the Savior’s life, mission and love for each of us. We are each invited to consider how we can “Be Someone’s Angel” and let our light shine this Christmas season as we love the people around us, share joy and follow the example of Jesus Christ! Please see the “Light the World” website and the attached flyer for ideas to share light and goodness with others!

We have some fantastic opportunities to provide some Christmas cheer and much needed temporal support for members of our stake who are residents of the Brookdale Senior Living home and those in our community.

  • First, we’ve created an online list of gift requests (SignUpGenius Gift Requests) from residents at the Brookdale Senior Living home. We invite you to review the list and decide what gifts you would like to give to the residents. Each gift needs to be wrapped and clearly tagged with the resident ID number (you’ll see the ID number listed on each available slot in the SignUpGenius link, e.g., 100-20 Female; 101-21 Male, etc.). Please deliver the wrapped and tagged gifts to Sister Dee Dee Pattie’s home by December 20th.  Her address is 2435 Coleman St.  Her number is 208-251-1798 if you have any questions.
  • Second, as we’ve done in past years, our stake has signed up to help support the gathering of donations via the Red Kettle Campaign and Bell Ringing in cooperation with the Salvation Army at Walmart on December 19th, 20th, 21st and 23rd. We need to organize volunteers for shifts to cover the times from 10 AM to 7 PM for BOTH doors for all days. Please use this Bell Ringing SignUpGenius link to sign up and help! Volunteers can be individuals or small groups ringing the bells.  You can sing, play an instrument, or dress like an elf…anything friendly and positive you can think of. This is a great opportunity for youth, individuals and families in our stake to provide service!

Thank you for all the good you do and the love, service and blessings you bring to each other and those in our community. Wishing each of you a wonderful Christmas and blessings of the Savior in your lives.
